Questions

Is Jesus real?

Two questions hide inside this one. Did Jesus of Nazareth exist? And is He who He said He was? The first is barely disputed by historians. The second is the one that changes your life.

The historical man

Jesus is referenced outside the Bible by Roman and Jewish writers within living memory of His death. Serious historians of any faith or none take His existence, His public teaching, and His execution under Pontius Pilate as settled facts.

The claim that will not sit quietly

Jesus did not present Himself as one more moral teacher. He forgave sin, accepted worship, and said that seeing Him was seeing God. Those claims are either true or monstrous; they are not mild.

The resurrection

Christianity stands or falls here, and its first preachers knew it. They proclaimed a risen Jesus in the same city where He was buried, to people who could have produced the body, and they died rather than take it back.

What the Bible says

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.John 1:14 (KJV)
Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father.John 14:9 (KJV)
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (KJV)
