Questions

Does God forgive what I did?

People usually ask this with one specific thing in mind. The answer of Scripture is yes — and it is not a loophole, it is the whole point.

The Bible's heroes are not clean

Moses killed a man. David arranged a death to cover adultery. Paul hunted Christians. Peter denied Jesus to his face. God did not merely tolerate them; He used them.

Forgiveness is complete, not partial

God does not file your sin away for later. Scripture uses the strongest pictures it has: removed as far as east is from west, blotted out, remembered no more.

Shame is not the same as guilt

Guilt says you did something wrong, and Jesus deals with that fully. Shame says you are something wrong, and that voice is not God's.

What the Bible says

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.1 John 1:9 (KJV)
As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.Psalm 103:12 (KJV)
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.Isaiah 1:18 (KJV)

Bring it to Him honestly. Nothing you say will make Him turn away.
