Salvation
What is salvation?
To be saved means to be rescued — from sin, from death, and from separation from God. It is not self-improvement. It is a rescue you receive.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
What Scripture says
Salvation is by grace, through faith, and it is a gift. Paul closes off every escape route: not of yourselves, not of works, so that nobody can boast.
What this means
You cannot earn it, which also means you cannot lose it by failing to earn it well enough today. The pressure is off, and the gratitude is on.
Go deeper
Grace means unearned favour. Faith is not a quality you generate; it is trust placed in someone reliable. Both words point away from you and toward Christ.
