End times
The return of Jesus
Christian hope is not vague optimism. It is a Person who said He is coming back.
“Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.”
What Scripture says
The angels promise that the same Jesus will return in the same way. Jesus Himself says to watch, because the hour is unknown.
What this means
Watching is not date-setting or fear. It is living now the way you would want to be found living then.
Go deeper
Revelation ends where Genesis began: God dwelling with His people, and every tear gone. The story is going somewhere good.
Supporting Scripture
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
Revelation 21:4 (KJV)
“Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.”
Matthew 24:42 (KJV)
Think about it
If Jesus returned this year, what would you want to have changed first?
Put it into practice
Make one decision this week that you would be glad to be found doing.
Pray
Even so, come, Lord Jesus. Keep me ready and keep me faithful. Amen.
